Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world. However, much like soccer, it’s not popular here in the states. But some immigrants from Pakistan and India have decided to attempt the seemingly impossible…to get Americans to embrace the sport. Skokie, a suburb of Chicago, has a pretty high influx of Pakistanis and Indians. The park distric there has taken notice to the hundreds that flock to local parks to play this interesting game. Skokie officials have decided to build a park to accomodate the participants by building a field made for cricket.

When I used to live at Knollwood, I witness many foreign students playing this game. I never understood the rules and they wouldn’t let me play. Therefore didn’t like it too much. Maybe it was because I would always try to play with them when I was wasted…or maybe it was because we always made fun of them. Whatever the reason, I don’t see it getting popular. What do you guys think?
