The gauntlet has been thrown down, ladies and gentlemen. While talking to a group of top hat-and-monocle donors in Birmingham, Nick Saban issued a WWF-style challenge to the golden domers, saying
“I’d like to play Notre Dame,” Saban said after a speech to a packed room of members of the Rotary Club of Birmingham. “We played them three times at Michigan State and beat them three times. That was a great national game, it creates fan interest and TV will always jump on those games.”
Well, of course Nick Saban wants to play Notre Dame. Bob Davie is personally responsible for much of Saban’s net wealth by boldly refusing to show up for any Michigan State games for half a decade. Personally, I would love for this this series to happen, but it’s all a pipe dream that will undoubtedly get laughed off the stage when it makes it to the athletic offices, as both schools have notoriously pantywaist AD’s.

Boring game Alabama hasn’t earned the right to play top teams on national tv. ND gets in that azz like a wedgie!

You boys must be from up north. I for one would love to see this happen because it would be good for college football. Youll have to remember that Saban did have NDs # when he was up at MSU. Good luck to your boys in the fall.
